There aren’t going to be a lot of words to this review as there aren’t a lot of words to this book. That’s because the few words that are used describe some of the features and Lego pieces used to create these incredible machines. When you consider the amount of thought that must go into finding the right pieces from the Lego Technic system in the right colors and adapt them to the machines you want to make, you understand the depth of passion and talent these artists possess.
I have scoured this book many times, reading and re-reading the descriptions Pawet Kmiec has written, amazed by the abilities their creators possess. This is made all the easier by the number of large-format, full-color pictures, cutaways and illustrations, as well as the clear, concise descriptions and recounting of the challenges each designer faced as he built his masterpiece.
This book is as much a pictorial as it is a guide to the vast array of Lego Technic artists in the broader world. Whether you are a gear head or an art connoisseur, is the perfect coffee table book for those times when you want to show visitors to your home the depth of your appreciation for things of mechanical beauty, need a conversation starter or aren’t sure what to do on a rainy day. It is highly recommended. However, be forewarned. Keep paper toweling handy as you will drool.
